Part 3 : Working principle
3.1 Basic electromagnetic principle
When current passes through the solenoid coil of the electromagnet, a magnetic field is generated, which magnetizes the iron core and generates suction. The suction cup usually has an iron core and a coil inside. When the coil is energized, the iron core is magnetized, generates a magnetic field, and adsorbs the object.
3.2 Reverse magnetic field generation
By changing the direction of the current in the electromagnet solenoid coil, a magnetic field opposite to the original direction is generated. When the reverse current passes, the newly generated reverse magnetic field is opposite to the direction of the magnetic field during the previous adsorption, which affects the magnetization state of the adsorbed object.
3.3 Demagnetization process
Under the action of the reverse magnetic field, the magnetic domain structure originally formed by magnetization inside the adsorbed object is disturbed and destroyed. The arrangement of the magnetic domains gradually becomes disordered, causing the overall magnetism of the object to weaken or disappear, thereby weakening or disappearing the adsorption force and achieving demagnetization.
3.4 Specific implementation method
Current decreasing demagnetization: Demagnetization is achieved by gradually reducing the current of the electromagnet. When the current begins to decrease, the strength of the magnetic field will also weaken accordingly, and the purpose of demagnetization will eventually be achieved.
Reverse current demagnetization: directly change the direction of current flow to the electromagnet, so that it produces a reverse magnetic field, which offsets or destroys the original magnetization state. The magnetic material gradually loses or weakens its magnetization, and the adsorption force will also weaken or disappear.
